The Geoinformation Group at TU Vienna in Austria is looking for a PhD Student, starting the earliest possible.

We welcome applications from students that are enthusiastic about working in the area of Human-Computer Interaction and Geographic Information Science. During this 4 years position, the main focus will be on spatial interaction modalities and human activity recognition using a variety of sensors. The research is expected to lead to publications and a PhD dissertation for the student.
 
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate must have an academic degree (Master Degree or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g., Geographic Information Science, Computer Science, Media Informatics, Information Science), as well as strong research interests in Geographic Information Science and Human-Computer Interaction.
Good programming skills (e.g., C#, Python) and analytical thinking are required. Experience in Machine Learning and Empirical Research is highly desirable. Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: AR/VR, Unity, Eye Tracking. Furthermore, the candidate must have good communication skills in English (oral and written) and be a team player.
 
Contract information
- 4 years position not tied to a project
- 30h/week employment
- Minimum 2.148,38 Euro gross (14 x per year)
